Membership Announcement
To the Members of the Community Bankers of California:
The Community Bankers of California (CBC) is pleased to announce that effective June 1, 2009 CBC members will join forces with the California Independent Bankers (CIB), one of the leading trade associations in the state and an affiliate of the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA), which represents nearly 5,000 community banks in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Through the collective voices of CBC members, CIB, and ICBA, the future holds many new possibilities for community banks in California.
For the past 50 years CBC has been an active part of the California community banking landscape by providing networking and critical industry information for our community bank members. The same is true for CIB, which, with more than 150 community bank members, has been an active community banking advocate since the 1980s. This new partnership will strengthen advocacy efforts and overall support for California’s community banks. CBC Executive Director David Haden will become an executive consultant to CIB. CBC Assistant Executive Director Kandy McFarlane will become a full-time employee of CIB.
Thank you to everyone for your support of CBC over the years. With your continued support, this union will present CBC banks with many new opportunities as members of the CIB. We have no doubt our combined strength will only serve to empower community banking in the great state of California.
